Hiya

We are thinking of driving over next March for 3 months and wondered if it were cheaper to fly and hire a car for 3 months or drive over, we can work out the cost of the fuel, but can anyone help us with the costs of tolls from Calais to Quesada.

When you put in Calais France (Departure) Torrevieja Spain (Destination) it comes up with €284 costs.

The AA says it is 1919 KMs from Calais to Torrevieja (1192 miles)

I know someone who drove it last year on the motorways, took 17 hours non stop and cost approx €180 in fuel and €100 in tolls and the route was Barcelona, Perpignon, Clermont Ferrand, Paris, Lille, Calais. If you go on the A/B Roads it takes about 20 hours and costs approx €160 - so the Michelin website is pretty accurate.

If they were to do it again (would need a lot of persuading) they would still go on the motorways and pay the tolls, but would not do it on one go and stay overnight in a motel halfway.
